Your Health

While the development of varicose veins can often be a cause for shame and self-consciousness, it is the underlying health issues which often prove the greatest justification for varicose vein treatment.

Varicose Veins will not disappear by themselves and complications may arise if severe varicose veins are left untreated.

Conditions arising from lack of varicose vein treatment may include:
  • Phlebitis (inflammation in a vein)
  • Blood Clots (thrombosis)
  • Leg Swelling
  • Skin Pigmentation
  • Eczema or Dermatitis
  • Bleeding
  • Leg Ulcers

As with any medical treatment, it is best to find a doctor who is well trained and experienced with your condition. Many people have difficulty finding a local doctor who has appropriate expertise in treating varicose and leg veins. Dr Davis has years of experience in the specialized management of varicose veins. His passion for excellent clinical results and consistently outstanding patient satisfaction ensures that you are able to receive the best care for your condition.

At our initial consultations, we perform an ultrasound examination of your legs, provide you with a personalized treatment plan and give you an exact quote of treatment costs. At the consultation stage, we will construct a plan based on your aims. At this point, we will fully explain the reasoning behind our decisions, the pros and cons of the prospective procedure and the expected results.

There are payment options available from Mac Credit and you do not need a referral to make an appointment.

Your Comfort

Treatments such as ELA are performed under local anaesthetic, allowing you to remain awake throughout the procedure, but only feeling minor discomfort. Sclerotherapy and UGS are both conducted without the need for anaesthetic, as pain or discomfort is felt to a very minimal degree, if at all. For those patients who feel particularly anxious when undergoing treatment such as ELA, inhaled pain relief is available.

Varicose Vein Post-Treatment Care

After vein treatment, you will be required to wear a special venous compression stocking to assist in sealing off abnormal veins. Compression stockings are flesh-coloured and both comfortable and unobtrusive to wear. The amount of time required to wear the stocking varies between 3 to 14 days.

Compression stockings minimise the formation of bruising and pigmentation and wearing the stocking correctly may reduce the number of treatments necessary, by assisting in the closure of the vein. It is also thought that the stockings may reduce the risk of developing venous thrombosis or the possibility of recurrence.

Following your treatment, we will perform regular check-ups to ensure that everything is running smoothly and you can enjoy the benefits of beautiful legs!
